Jo Ann Walters is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) as well as the founder and operator of Saguaro Springs Healing Center.
JoAnn has a tremendous heart to work with people seeking to find healing and are looking for someone to help them in their journey. Having experienced many struggles of her own, she knows first-hand how difficult it is to share your inner thoughts and fears with another person. JoAnn tries to honor this by creating a safe and non-threatening environment that facilitates healing and growth.
Since 2012, JoAnn has been working with the Gila River Indian Community and feels honored to have the opportunity to get to know many of her clients on a personal level and assist them through whatever obstacles have been in their way. JoAnn has worked in numerous mental health capacities from crisis counseling assessments, community living program management, community-based therapy, and now in private practice since 2018. Each of these experiences have provided very unique learning opportunities for personal and professional grown that has enhanced her ability to help others work through depression, anxiety, grief, addictions, and many other life struggles. JoAnn has a heart to help people learn to help themselves in a non-threatening, sensitive, and caring environment. Her faith is a part of who she is and strongly guides the work that she does. She has always been open to including this in the counseling process for those who express a desire to have this as a part of their treatment. For those with other spiritual beliefs or no identified belief system, JoAnn will incorporate what works for the individual, couple and/or family.
Rachael is a licensed therapist here at Saguaro Springs Healing Center. Rachael graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, received her master’s degree in counseling and psychology and have over 15 years’ experience in the mental health field. Her purpose and passion as a therapist is to bring hope and healing to others.
Her therapeutic experience includes working with men, women and children of all ages; including a diverse range of challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADD/ADHD, domestic violence, child abuse and substance abuse.She believes in using a positive client-centered approach to assisting individuals achieve the best version of themselves. As such, Rachael utilizes an eclectic approach to treatment with the foundation of Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, Motivational Interviewing and mindfulness-based strategies.
Tye is a Masters level psychotherapist here at Saguaro Springs Healing Center. Tye graduated from San Francisco State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and later received her master’s degree from the University of Washington in psychology and has over 12 years’ experience in the mental health field. Her purpose and passion as a therapist is to bring hope and strength to others through self love and self compassion.
Throughout her career in behavioral health, Tye has worked in a variety of settings including residential treatment facilities for both substance abuse and dual diagnoses patients, child welfare including foster youth, intensive in home therapy with families and school counseling. In addition to these treatment settings, Tye also has experience working with the Native American community as well as the LGBTQ community respectively.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a primary treatment method Tye uses in working with her clients. Other modalities she uses include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Family Systems. Tye has extensive experience working with clients who seek relief from issues including Depression, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Psychotic Disorders and Substance Abuse. These experiences have created a strong ability to engage with a wide range of clients, complete thorough diagnostic assessments, and assist clients in reaching their treatment goals.
Renee received her AA in Criminal Justice at ITT Technical Institute, BA in Human Services at Ottawa University and her master’s degree in professional counseling from Ottawa University. Renee' has been a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) since 2016. She is a certified Health and Wellness Coach who is culturally competent, and trauma informed. Renee’ has worked with youth, men, women, and families in a variety of counseling settings. She has extensive experience working with clients who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, family separation, addiction, recovery, and 12-step. She utilizes interventions from DBT, CBT, EMDR, CBT, Seeking Safety, and many more. Renee’ enjoys spending time with her family and pets, being active outside, and finding life balance.
Bruce Walters has been an IT professional for 25 years. He has a heart for growing business the right way by taking care of people first. He has a diverse background and brings many skillsets to the Saguaro Springs Healing Center team.
Prior to Saguaro Springs PLLC, Bruce owns and operates Arizona Web Services LLC, taking care of hundreds of clients over the years.
Bruce has many years of experience in janitorial, maintenance, construction, accounting, business & online marketing, web development, digital photography, and IT support & development. If there is a job that is required, he is happy and eager to fill and meet that need.
